On October 21, 2025, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao had a phone conversation with Dutch Economic Minister Kaanderman, during which they exchanged views on issues related to ASML Semiconductor. Wang emphasized that China places great importance on China-Netherlands economic and trade cooperation. He pointed out that the measures taken by the Dutch side concerning ASML Semiconductor severely affect the stability of the global supply chain. China urges the Netherlands to approach this issue from the perspective of maintaining global supply chain safety and stability, upholding the spirit of contracts along with market-oriented and legal principles, and to resolve the issue promptly while protecting the lawful rights and interests of Chinese investors, thereby creating a fair, transparent, and predictable business environment. Kaanderman stated that the Dutch side values its economic and trade relations with China and is willing to communicate closely with China to find constructive solutions regarding the ASML Semiconductor issue.
