Mainland Chinese equities edged higher during the morning trading session on September 9, with the three major indices paring early gains after opening stronger. A rally in computing hardware stocks dominated the session, as high-speed copper connections, circuit boards, and optical communications concepts collectively advanced, while AI applications, cultural media, and property sectors faced downward pressure.

Hong Kong stocks declined, with both the Hang Seng Index and the Hang Seng Tech Index sliding in early trade. Most technology stocks retreated, although chip and semiconductor names showed a rebound. Notably, shares of CATL (A-share and H-share listings) continued their losing streak. In the bond market, treasury futures traded in a narrow range. Across commodities, most domestic futures contracts fell, with precious metals leading the losses.
