Intuitive Machines (LUNR) stock is soaring 5.59% in pre-market trading on Wednesday, following the company's announcement of its ambitious Near Space Network Services (NSNS) program during its first quarter earnings call. The space technology firm is strategically pivoting towards recurring, high-margin revenue streams through lunar orbit infrastructure.

CEO Stephen Altemus revealed plans for a Lunar Data Satellite constellation designed to provide secure and continuous connectivity for navigation, command, and control of spacecraft around the Moon. This infrastructure is expected to serve various customers, including NASA, from which Intuitive Machines has already secured an $18 million task order under the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program.

The company's CFO, Peter McGrath, compared the NSNS business model to commercial satellite networks like Globalstar and Iridium Communications, emphasizing its potential for stable, service-based revenue. Intuitive Machines plans to launch its first NSNS data relay satellite alongside its IM-3 lunar delivery mission in the first half of 2026, marking a significant step in its growth strategy and solidifying its position as a key player in lunar exploration and NASA's Artemis Program.
