On 27 October 2025, the Board of Directors of the Company held the 10th meeting of its tenth session, with six Directors supposed to be present. Six attended the meeting, and one Director, who could not attend in person for business reasons, authorized another Director to vote on his behalf. After deliberation and voting, the Board approved the following:
1) Chen Zhe was appointed as Executive Vice President and ceased to be Chief Pilot. 2) Zhang Yong was appointed as Executive Vice President. 3) Yu Ming was appointed as Chief Pilot. 4) Gao Fei ceased to be Executive Vice President due to a change in work arrangement.
All newly appointed senior management will serve a term consistent with the current session of the Board. The Board also received a resignation application from Gao Fei, who resigned as an Executive Director candidate effective 27 October 2025, confirming no disagreement with the Board or the Company. The Board expressed its sincere appreciation for Gao Fei’s contributions during his tenure.
Chen Zhe, male, born in January 1974 (51 years old), holds a bachelor’s degree in Transport Aircraft Piloting from the Civil Aviation Flight University of China and is a member of the Chinese Communist Party. He began his career in July 1995 and has held multiple positions, including Manager of the B737/757 Fleet of the Guangzhou Flight Department of the Company, Deputy General Manager and member of the Party Committee of Guizhou Airlines Company Limited, and General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhuhai Xiang Yi Aviation Technology Company Limited. He later served as General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hunan Branch of the Company, General Manager of the Safety Supervision Division of China Southern Air Holding Company Limited, Chief Security Officer of the Company, and Chief Pilot as well as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fleets Division of the Company. From August 2025 onward, he was Executive Vice President and a member of the Party Leadership Group of China Southern Air Holding Company Limited, concurrently serving as Chief Pilot and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fleets Division of the Company. Since September 2025, he has continued as an Executive Vice President and a member of the Party Leadership Group of China Southern Air Holding Company Limited, a member of the Party Committee of the Company, and Chief Pilot of the Company.
Zhang Yong, male, born in October 1970 (54 years old), graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University majoring in Aero Engine and obtained a master’s degree in Aviation Safety Management jointly offered by the Civil Aviation University of China and École Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC). He is a senior engineer and a member of the Chinese Communist Party. He began his career in July 1994 and served in various positions at Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation, including General Manager of the Engineering Department. He subsequently joined Air China Limited, holding roles such as Deputy General Manager, member of the Party Committee, and General Manager of the Aircraft Engineering Department. In July 2025, Zhang Yong joined the Party Leadership Group of China Southern Air Holding Company Limited and, from August 2025, served as Executive Vice President and a member of the Party Leadership Group. Since September 2025, he has also served as an Executive Vice President and a member of the Party Committee of the Company.
Yu Ming, male, born in July 1971 (54 years old), graduated from Xinjiang Institute of Technology majoring in Mechanical Manufacturing Equipment, Technology, and Automation. He holds a bachelor’s degree, is a Second-Class Pilot, and a member of the Chinese Communist Party. He began his career in August 1993, holding roles such as Deputy Manager and Manager of the B787 Fleet of the Guangzhou Flight Department of China Southern Airlines Company Limited, and Deputy General Manager and a member of the Party Committee of Shenzhen Branch of the Company. He was also General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangxi Branch of the Company, later becoming Executive Deputy Head and a member of the Party Committee of the Fleet Division. Since September 2025, he has served as Head of the Fleet Division, General Manager of the Flight Training Management Department, and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fleet Division (Flight Training Management Department) of the Company.
As at the date of this announcement, the Board of the Company comprises Executive Directors Ma Xu Lun and Han Wen Sheng, and Independent Non-Executive Directors Pansy Catilina Chiu King Ho, Guo Wei, Zhang Jun Sheng, and Zhu Hai Ping.
