Yunnan Reclaims 370MW Solar Capacity After CNNC and China Three Gorges Withdraw

Yunnan has taken back 370MW of solar project quotas after the original winning bidders, including units of CNNC and China Three Gorges, voluntarily gave up their development rights.

On July 29, the Zhaotong Municipal Energy Bureau in Yunnan announced the recovery of development rights for five solar projects in Daguan County and Qiaojia County, citing the original winning enterprises' active abandonment of project investment and development. The affected projects and their details are as follows:

1. The Daguan Taihua Solar Project, with a capacity of 140MW, was tendered on February 6, 2025. The winning bidder was CNNC Huineng (Shaanxi) Energy Co., Ltd..

2. The Daguan Dazhai Solar Project, with a capacity of 35MW, was tendered on April 27, 2025. The winning bidder was also CNNC Huineng (Shaanxi) Energy Co., Ltd..

3. The Daguan Hongqi Solar Project, with a capacity of 55MW, was tendered on May 19, 2025. The winning bidder was a consortium formed by CNNC Huineng (Shaanxi) Energy Co., Ltd. and Anhui Xuhe New Energy Technology Co., Ltd..

4. The Daguan Gaoqiao Solar Project, with a capacity of 130MW, was tendered on May 19, 2025. The winning bidder was also a consortium of CNNC Huineng (Shaanxi) Energy Co., Ltd. and Anhui Xuhe New Energy Technology Co., Ltd..

5. The Qiaojia County Pingdiying Yicha Solar Project, with a capacity of 10MW, was tendered on February 4, 2024. The winning bidder was China Three Gorges Group Yunnan Energy Investment Co., Ltd..

In total, these five projects represent a combined capacity of 370MW.
