On May 19, Ge Haijiao, Chairman of Bank of China Limited, met with Loh Boon Chye, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX Group), at the Bank's headquarters. The meeting culminated in the signing of a cooperation memorandum, with Bank of China's Executive Vice President Huang Xueling also present.

Both parties acknowledged their solid collaborative foundation and complementary strengths in fostering regional capital market growth and facilitating cross-border investment and financing activities. They expressed their commitment to leveraging this memorandum as a catalyst to deepen mutual cooperation. The initiative aims to utilize Bank of China's global reach and integrated service capabilities alongside SGX Group's role as an international financial platform. Key focus areas will include advancing the international use of the renminbi (RMB), enhancing capital market connectivity, and exploring innovative financial service models. This collaboration is intended to elevate financial cooperation between China and Singapore to new heights.
