Another major state-owned enterprise has announced the selected candidates for its upcoming photovoltaic procurement framework. China Datang Corporation (referred to as Datang Group) has recently publicized the list of successful bidders for its 2026-2027 photovoltaic module and inverter framework procurement. The total scale for the photovoltaic module procurement is 11GW, divided into three lots: 6GW for N-type TOPCon, 1GW for HJT, and 4GW for BC modules.
A total of 15 companies have been shortlisted. These include Jinko Solar Co., Ltd. (SH: 688223), Tongwei Co., Ltd. (SH: 600438), Trina Solar Co., Ltd. (SH: 688599), JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd. (SZ: 002459), Hengdian Group DMEGC Magnetics Co., Ltd. (SZ: 002056), TCL Zhonghuan Renewable Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (SZ: 002129), Huayao Photoelectric Co., Ltd. (SZ: 300323), Yingli, Gokin Solar, Chint, Risen Energy Co., Ltd. (SZ: 300118), Aiko Solar Energy Co., Ltd. (SH: 600732), Canadian Solar Inc. (SH: 688472), Longi, Jiangxi Electric Power Investment, and others.
For Lot 1, the bid prices ranged from 0.705 to 0.8 yuan per watt, with an average of 0.756 yuan/W. Lot 2 saw bid prices between 0.741 and 0.772 yuan/W, averaging 0.761 yuan/W. The bids for Lot 3 were between 0.790 and 0.812 yuan/W, with an average price of 0.8 yuan/W.
The inverter procurement framework also totals 11GW, split into two lots. Lot 1 is for 9.5GW of string inverters, while Lot 2 is for 1.5GW of central inverters. Three companies have been selected: Zhuzhou Converter Institute, TBEA Co., Ltd. (SH: 600089), and Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. (SZ: 300827).
For the inverter lots, bid prices for Lot 1 fell between 0.083 and 0.088 yuan/W. The bids for Lot 2 were 0.161 yuan/W and 0.180 yuan/W, respectively.
Recent Surge in Solar Procurement Activity
This announcement is part of a recent wave of procurement activity from major state-owned energy firms. On June 5th, China Energy Engineering Group released a tender for its 2026 centralized photovoltaic inverter procurement, with an estimated total capacity of 20GW across eight lots.
On June 6th, the CGN E-Commerce Platform published the list of selected bidders for CGN New Energy's 2026 photovoltaic module framework procurement, which plans to purchase 8.4GW of modules with bid prices ranging from 0.742 to 0.770 yuan/W.
Furthermore, China Resources Power issued a tender on June 23rd for the centralized procurement of photovoltaic module equipment for its 2026 projects. This procurement is divided into three packages with a total scale of 5.4GW.
