YURUN FOOD’s 2025 ESG Report: GHG Emissions Down 34.9%, 2030 Intensity Cut Target Set at 30%

China Yurun Food Group Limited (YURUN FOOD) has released its tenth Environmental, Social and Governance Report, covering 1 January–31 December 2025 and aligned with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s enhanced ESG Code.

Double-Digit Cuts in Carbon Footprint • Total Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse-gas emissions fell 34.9% to 12,094 tonnes CO₂e. • Scope 1 emissions declined to 8,047 tonnes CO₂e; Scope 2 dropped to 4,047 tonnes CO₂e. • Emissions intensity stood at 1.29 tCO₂e per tonne of product (2024: 0.41; change reflects lower output). • The Board approved targets to reduce GHG intensity 30% by 2030 (vs 2024) and to reach net-zero Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 2050.

Sharp Energy Savings and Efficiency Gains • Total energy consumption plunged 83.9% to 22,825 MWh, supported by the full conversion to gas-fired boilers, wider use of electric forklifts and LED lighting. • Energy intensity improved 22.6% to 2.43 MWh per tonne of product. • YURUN FOOD aims to cut energy intensity 25% by 2030 and source 20% of electricity from renewables, with rooftop solar currently under assessment.

Water & Waste Management • Water use fell 59.9% to 135,120 tonnes; reclaimed-water projects and pipeline upgrades are expanding. • Hazardous waste totalled 0.25 tonnes; non-hazardous waste 63 tonnes, all disposed of through licensed contractors. • No environmental non-compliance or pollutant-emission exceedances were recorded.

Food Safety & Customer Assurance • No product recalls were reported in 2025; all 20 customer complaints were resolved (100% resolution rate). • Four plants maintained energy-management certification; additional certifications included FSSC 22000, ISO 9001/14001/22000 and BRC. • The flagship “Haroulian” brand earned multiple national quality awards, including China Meat Association gold and silver medals.

Workforce & Safety Metrics • Headcount averaged 454 (2024: 933) with full training coverage (28.4 hours per employee). • Employee turnover rate was 51.34%; one work-related fatality occurred, with zero lost-time injuries reported. • Occupational-health systems (ISO 45001) are in place at three plants, complemented by regular safety drills and PPE distribution.

Governance & Supply Chain Oversight • An ESG working group led by senior management reports quarterly to the Board. • All 184 suppliers signed integrity, quality and information-security commitments; 100% are subject to annual performance reviews. • No corruption cases or legal proceedings were recorded in the year; whistle-blowing channels include hotline, email and digital platforms.

Community & Industry Engagement • YURUN FOOD sponsored the Asian Winter Games food-supply programme, Nanjing Half Marathon and Harbin International Marathon. • Enterprise–school partnerships provided internships and vocational training; the Group continues to serve in leadership roles at six major industry associations.

Forward Climate Strategy • Scenario analyses against 1.5 °C and 4 °C pathways underpin a transition plan featuring energy-efficiency upgrades, renewable-energy integration and supply-chain diversification. • An internal carbon-pricing mechanism for capital-investment decisions is targeted for rollout by 2026.

The Board affirmed that the 2025 ESG achievements and targets are integral to YURUN FOOD’s strategy of sustaining high-quality food production while aligning with national carbon-neutral goals and evolving stakeholder expectations.
