Market Open: Domestic Futures Show Mixed Gains, Crude Oil Surges Nearly 10%

At the start of morning trading on September 2, 2026, domestic futures contracts for major commodities displayed a predominantly upward trend, with only a handful of instruments trading in the red.

Leading the gains, SC crude oil surged by nearly 10%, while container shipping (Europe route) followed closely with an increase of over 9%. Ethylene glycol (EG) climbed almost 6%, and both low-sulfur fuel oil (LU) and fuel oil advanced by more than 5%. Asphalt rose over 4%, with plastics and styrene (EB) both posting gains exceeding 3%.

On the downside, palladium and silver futures dropped by more than 4%, while platinum fell over 3%. Gold declined by more than 2%, and both lithium carbonate and tin slipped nearly 2%. Additionally, contracts for 20号胶 (No. 20 rubber), international copper, rubber, copper, and live hogs each decreased by over 1%.
