MetaOptics Ltd (9MT) said on Aug, 7 2026 that it has withdrawn its application to list on The Nasdaq Stock Market and will defer plans for a U.S. dual listing.

The Singapore-headquartered semiconductor optics firm cited heightened geopolitical tensions, volatile U.S. equity markets, rapid technology shifts in the optics and semiconductor sectors and concerns over extreme price swings seen in recent Asian small-cap listings as key factors behind the decision.

Executive Chairman Thng Chong Kim stated the company remains “well-capitalised, with a healthy cash balance” and will concentrate resources on converting customer leads into purchase orders, delivering existing orders and expanding metalens production capacity.

MetaOptics said the withdrawal will not materially affect its net tangible assets per share or earnings per share for the financial year ending Dec, 31 2026. The company will keep its primary listing on the Singapore Exchange’s Catalist board.

The group plans to deepen its U.S. presence through subsidiary MetaOptics Inc. (USA), including deploying a Direct Laser Writer at the University of Arizona’s Center of Semiconductor Manufacturing and establishing a 12-inch front-end semiconductor fabrication line in the country.

Operationally, MetaOptics reported nearly 200 reservations for its second-generation pico projector since a July 2026 pre-launch, and it has begun shipping metalens modules for 5G smartphones and AI smart glasses to customers in Europe, Japan and the Philippines. The firm is also fulfilling orders for its Direct Laser Writer and 12-inch Automatic Metalens Tester, with installation at the University of Arizona expected in 2027.

MetaOptics said it may revisit an international dual listing when market conditions improve.
