Construction at the Global International Food City project site on Huizhan Avenue in Midong District, Urumqi, was in full swing during the May Day holiday. On May 4, the site was bustling with tower cranes and machinery as construction teams took advantage of the peak building period. Work is progressing systematically on key stages, including the main structure's exterior facade and related supporting facilities, to ensure the project is delivered on schedule.

The Global International Food City is a key commercial and cultural tourism complex in Urumqi's Midong District. Located adjacent to the Urumqi Olympic Sports Center, the site benefits from convenient transportation and high foot traffic. The total construction scale of the project is approximately 480,000 square meters, with a total investment of 10 billion yuan. It is designed to include 4,200 underground and above-ground parking spaces. The first phase of construction covers 100,000 square meters and adopts a neo-Chinese architectural style, featuring themed streets and alleys. It aims to become a one-stop food and cultural tourism destination for Midong District and the wider Urumqi area.

"Currently, the project has completed the main structural work for the underground second level and the double-ground-level floors, with 80% of the interior installation work finished," said Wang Wenchao, the project construction head and General Manager of Xinjiang Outstanding Global Real Estate Co., Ltd. Supporting works such as landscaping, fire safety systems, decoration, and lighting have now commenced on-site. "While ensuring construction safety and project quality, we are accelerating progress to allow major tenants to begin interior decoration by mid-June and achieve the goal of starting trial operations in September," Wang added.

The design of the Global International Food City is distinctive. Wu Yiman, Deputy General Manager in charge of investment and operations, explained that the project is planned around the themes of "Eight Streets and Eight Alleys" and "Three Rings, One Center." "Upon completion, it will be more than just a commercial block; it will serve as the urban 'heart' and a cultural tourism destination for the entire area. We will integrate local culture with contemporary art, incorporate night-time economy elements, and create an urban complex that is visitable, viewable, entertaining, playful, and enjoyable," Wu stated.

It is understood that once completed, the Global International Food City will further enhance the commercial and cultural tourism functions of the exhibition district, providing citizens and tourists with a new landmark integrating dining, leisure, and entertainment.
