On September 18th, the first "Talent Fair" of the semester at Lingang New Area University City opened in the gymnasium of Shanghai Dianji University. Nearly 200 companies gathered on site, offering more than 4,000 quality positions that attracted graduates from over ten universities, including Fudan University, Tongji University, and East China Normal University, who came to seek employment.
Unlike the traditional "crowd-browsing" recruitment model, this "Smart Future·Lingang Launch" autumn campus job fair introduced an AI intelligent job-matching system for the first time, achieving a shift from "people searching for jobs" to "jobs finding people," helping graduates apply for positions more efficiently.
From "blind browsing" to "precision navigation"
Facing the vast job information from nearly 200 companies, graduates no longer needed to queue up at every booth for consultations. Shanghai Dianji University had previously completed profile analysis for 913 core positions. Students only needed to input key details such as their major and preferred job type, and the system would automatically generate a personalized "job search map," precisely navigating them to the booths with the highest match rate.
Additionally, the university launched AI resume optimization systems and mock interview tools for all 2027 graduates, providing full-process employment support including intelligent resume polishing, job matching analysis, and mock interview scoring. Many students locked in their preferred positions before arriving and headed straight for initial interviews upon arrival, saving considerable time queuing without results.
"Initially, I was focusing only on algorithm roles, but the AI system, based on my project experience, recommended systems testing and project management directions, opening up new career paths for me," said Nie Can, a 2027 graduate from Shanghai Dianji University's School of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Holding the AI-generated recommendation sheet, he successfully completed initial interviews with three companies in a single day, significantly boosting his job search efficiency.
Fostering industry-ready talent with immediate capability
The high matching accuracy of this job fair reflects the university's deepening transformation from a "discipline-centric logic" to an "industry-centric logic." Shanghai Dianji University reorganized itself into seven major engineering schools, building a multi-tiered training system incorporating industry needs throughout the entire talent development process.
The university has co-established "integrated circuit classes" with chain-owner enterprises such as Shanghai New Rising Semiconductor, adopting a work-study alternating model of "2 months of frontline training plus 1 academic year of internship," with enterprise engineers directly teaching in classrooms. The first class achieved an internship placement rate of 91.6%, reducing both recruitment costs and talent development cycles.
A representative from Shanghai Huatian Integrated Circuit Co., Ltd. said on site that, based on past collaboration, the company plans to deepen its partnership in customized training classes. This "enroll-to-work" model has allowed many students to secure desired positions even before the job fair began.
As the organizer, the Lingang New Area University Employment Service and Education Alliance has leveraged its platform's radiating effect, extending services beyond Shanghai Dianji University students by pushing recruitment information to multiple universities citywide. This attracted numerous students from other institutions to make special trips to Lingang for job hunting.
To date, the alliance's membership has grown from initial "point-based breakthroughs" to comprehensive coverage, encompassing a more diverse range of universities and extending its industry reach further into Lingang's core sectors. Liu Guojun, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office at Shanghai Dianji University, explained, "We will continue guiding graduates toward employment in key industries and critical fields, ensuring that Lingang's policy benefits precisely reach every student."
