At the opening ceremony of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), Chen Gang, Party Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, walked to the podium wearing a pair of AI glasses capable of real-time prompting. He stated that this represents the latest achievement in proactively embracing the artificial intelligence era and building a China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Innovation Cooperation Center.

On September 17, at the opening ceremony of the 22nd CAEXPO, Chen Gang, Party Secretary of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, delivered a welcome speech wearing AI glasses capable of real-time prompting.

These smart glasses, developed by local Guangxi enterprise MAIYUE TECH, not only provide real-time text projection but also support instant translation among the languages of all ten ASEAN countries. Since the expo opened, the smart glasses have quickly attracted attention, with business visitors from Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and other countries coming to inquire.

It is reported that Thailand's Yongsheng International Business Management (Bangkok) Co., Ltd. has signed a procurement agreement with MAIYUE TECH to purchase 1,000 pairs of AI glasses.

"We hope to use technology to solve practical problems," said Huang Yuyang, Marketing Manager of MAIYUE TECH. He demonstrated a real-time Chinese-Thai language interaction scenario at the exhibition booth: when Thai merchants speak in Thai, Chinese partners can see real-time translated Chinese subtitles through the glasses; Chinese responses are also synchronously converted to Thai text through the APP and displayed on mobile phone screens.

"ASEAN countries have diverse languages, which is precisely where artificial intelligence can play a key role."

On September 18, visitors experienced smart glasses at MAIYUE TECH's booth at the 22nd CAEXPO.

The 22nd CAEXPO, held in Nanning from September 17-21, featured a first-ever 10,000 square meter artificial intelligence pavilion, bringing together a complete AI ecosystem from hardware to software, from technology to applications. Cutting-edge products including Huawei HarmonyOS foldable computers, Alibaba Cloud's Tongyi Qianwen large language model, Unitree Technology's bionic robots, and UBTECH's industrial humanoid robots were showcased, demonstrating China's multi-dimensional and deep-level AI innovation capabilities.

Chen Yang, Alibaba Cloud's Government and Enterprise Solutions Architect, told reporters that Alibaba has fully open-sourced its large language model technology, adhering to the strategy of "R&D in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, integration in Guangxi, and application in ASEAN." Through the CAEXPO platform, they hope to enable more ASEAN partners to access China's most advanced AI technology with low barriers and high efficiency.

Beyond smart glasses, more "black technologies" are moving from CAEXPO to ASEAN: at the CAEXPO Vietnam exhibition held in April this year, Chinese coffee robots made their ASEAN debut and secured 300 orders worth approximately $7.5 million. These innovative applications precisely meet the urgent needs of ASEAN countries.

The vitality of technology ultimately lies in benefiting the people. At the booth of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, long queues formed in front of an AI Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Constitution Identification Machine. This device integrates traditional TCM diagnostic methods including facial diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, and pulse diagnosis, generating constitution reports and health recommendations in just 3 minutes.

"Only when ordinary people can see it, touch it, and use it can high technology truly realize its value," said Fu Xiaoqian, Deputy Director of the hospital's Scientific Research Department.

On September 18, visitors queued to experience the AI TCM Constitution Identification Machine at the AI pavilion of the 22nd CAEXPO.

Wei Chaohui, Secretary-General of the CAEXPO Secretariat, stated that artificial intelligence is not only a key exhibition focus of this CAEXPO but also a crucial leverage point for future China-ASEAN cooperation. "ASEAN countries are generally in an accelerated period of digital transformation, and they expect deep connections with China in AI technology, applications, and talent. What CAEXPO aims to do is build more efficient, more intuitive, and more sustainable cooperation bridges."
