On July 17, Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met in Shanghai with Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga, who was in China to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Conference.

Wang Wentao stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two nations' leaders, economic and trade cooperation between China and Indonesia has yielded remarkable results. China has maintained its position as Indonesia's largest trading partner for 13 consecutive years and has long remained one of Indonesia's top three sources of foreign investment.

China is willing to work with Indonesia to jointly promote the sustained and healthy development of bilateral economic and trade relations, advance key projects such as the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" initiative, and hopes that Indonesia will provide a fair, stable, and transparent policy environment regarding mineral resources and industrial development.

Both sides should enhance collaboration to jointly uphold multilateralism and free trade, safeguard the rules-based international economic and trade order, and establish a reliable, stable, and trustworthy partnership in industrial and supply chains, thereby injecting more positive energy into the world economy.

Airlangga said that China is an important economic and trade partner for Indonesia, and practical cooperation between the two countries maintains a good momentum. Indonesia is willing to continue strengthening trade and investment exchanges with China, supports the "Two Countries, Twin Parks" initiative in achieving further progress, and aims to deepen cooperation in the digital economy and industrial supply chains to achieve mutual development.
