At the 2026 World Robot Conference Forum, held in Beijing from August 19-22, a comprehensive industry report was unveiled, highlighting significant milestones for the sector. Zhang Feng, who serves as the Party Committee Secretary of the Chinese Institute of Electronics and Chairman of the China Humanoid Robot and Embodied Intelligence Hundred-Person Association, presented the 2026 Humanoid Robot Industry Development Report.

The report identifies four major core findings shaping the industry's trajectory. Firstly, technological innovation has entered a new phase of clustered emergence, with the pace of iteration accelerating rapidly. This has notably sped up the upgrade towards high-end, intelligent products. Core capabilities such as environmental perception, planning, decision-making, and motion control are continuously strengthening, leading to improved adaptability and operational stability in complex scenarios.

Secondly, the industrial chain has achieved a dual leap in both quality, efficiency, and capacity. China has now established a complete production and manufacturing system for humanoid robots, spanning from key chips and core components to complete machine assembly. This has significantly enhanced the overall supporting capabilities of the industry.

Thirdly, applications are moving decisively into a deep implementation stage. Humanoid robots are transitioning rapidly from small-batch pilot trials to normalized deployment and large-scale commercial use. In the first half of 2026, China's humanoid robot shipments surpassed the 40,000-unit mark, with the global market share further increasing to 97.4%.

Finally, the report highlights the formation of a new, symbiotic ecosystem paradigm. China is accelerating the construction of a 'four-in-one' industrial ecosystem, guided by standard-setting, underpinned by talent cultivation, expanded through international cooperation, and supported by the development of innovative infrastructure.
