HealthyWay Inc (02587) announced a strategic reallocation of approximately HK$107 million in unutilized IPO funds on July 29, as detailed in a supplementary filing.

The core change involves redirecting capital originally earmarked for expanding physical pharmacies and hiring on-site health assistants and business representatives toward AI agent technology development and regional ecosystem expansion. As of the announcement date, the net IPO proceeds stood at about HK$109.4 million, with only HK$2.71 million utilized, leaving roughly HK$106.69 million unspent.

Following the adjustment, HK$36.65 million originally planned for specialty pharmacies and recruiting 90 on-site health assistants has been fully redirected to AI technology research. Another HK$29.54 million, initially set aside for hiring 20 medical experts and 20 business development representatives, will now go toward ecosystem development across multiple service lines. HK$15.86 million previously allocated for IT talent recruitment has also been merged into AI development. Only approximately HK$4.38 million remains reserved for working capital.

The HK$22.97 million designated for strategic investments and acquisitions has shifted focus toward companies involved in health products and health service providers.

This increased AI investment is not speculative. The company's related businesses have already achieved consecutive commercial deployments with clearly verifiable monetization paths. In 2025, AI agents generated over 32 million yuan in revenue during their first year of launch. An AI doctor assistant has been implemented in more than 20 medical institutions and was selected as a Fujian Province exemplary artificial intelligence application case.

In March 2026, the company secured digitalization projects at Sichuan Orthopedic Hospital and Anji County People's Hospital. In June, it won the bid for a computing power integration project with China Mobile in Rizhao. On July 20, HealthyWay signed an agreement with Xi'an Healthcare Group to co-build AI-powered smart communities, planning to cover the first 30 primary healthcare institutions in Xi'an, each equipped with five AI agents to create a full-cycle "prevention-diagnosis-treatment-rehabilitation-management" closed-loop system. This marks the transition of the company's AI solutions from single-point pilots to standardized, batch delivery.

Beyond AI, the company plans to establish 10 to 20 regional ecosystem companies across various provinces to deepen market penetration in enterprise services and digital marketing. These entities will take on core functions such as local AI project deployment, customized pharmaceutical digital marketing, and smart hospital information system delivery, providing tailored services to clients in different regions.

In 2025, this business line saw revenue grow 42.56%, with pilot projects launched in Jiangsu and Sichuan already showing positive results.

The capital reallocation represents a strategic upgrade from "heavy asset and human resource expansion" to "technology-driven, asset-light operations." In 2025, HealthyWay achieved revenue of 1.563 billion yuan, up 30.13% year-over-year, with net profit of 54.338 million yuan, successfully turning profitable after previous losses.

Intensified competition in physical pharmacies and pressure on gross margins contrast with AI solutions that offer high margins, easy scalability, and significantly better expected returns on capital compared to physical expansion.

Jinyufu Securities has issued a "recommend" rating with a target price of HK$17.53, while Huasheng Securities gave a "buy" rating with a target of HK$8.15. Analysts believe AI agents precisely address efficiency pain points in the healthcare industry, and this capital reallocation will effectively improve capital efficiency.

Shifting from "massive hiring" to "AI deployment" and from "single-point services" to "regional ecosystems," HealthyWay's strategic shift of HK$107 million signals that its growth engine has moved from labor-intensive to intelligent-driven. As AI agents scale to replace repetitive tasks and regional ecosystem companies penetrate local markets, this digital healthcare platform, listed just over a year ago, is accelerating its evolution toward becoming an "AI-driven leader in digital healthcare" through the most pragmatic capital allocation.
