A Tesla investor and Cybertruck owner shared a post on social media platform X, recounting how the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature helped him avoid a head-on collision with a wrong-way driver on a highway at night. Tesla CEO Elon Musk reposted the story, drawing attention to the life-saving potential of autonomous driving technology.

The investor, Clifford, detailed the incident: "FSD saves lives. It happened to me tonight. After the Tesla shareholder meeting, while driving through New Mexico, FSD prevented a high-speed collision (75 mph) with an oncoming vehicle. Only the mirror and window were damaged, but the scare was real. Thank you, Elon, Tesla, and Cybertruck." Musk responded with a heart emoji.

The post inadvertently highlighted the poor state of U.S. infrastructure. The accompanying video showed the Cybertruck traveling on a two-lane highway with no median barrier. This sparked criticism from users, with some calling for a ban on such highways or at least better markings and dividers. Others remarked that New Mexico is one of the worst states for driving, advising daytime travel with no stops if necessary.
