Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited has signed a joint-venture agreement with Indonesia’s PT Tempo Scan Pacific Tbk to establish PT TEMPO CTTQ BIOPHARMACEUTICAL INDONESIA (TCBI). The new entity is structured with a 51% controlling stake held by Sino Biopharmaceutical and 49% by Tempo Scan, aligning Sino Biopharmaceutical’s research and product-pipeline strengths with Tempo Scan’s manufacturing, regulatory and nationwide distribution capabilities.

The JV will concentrate on regulatory affairs, medical affairs, clinical trials, market entry and commercialisation across oncology, specialty care, cardio-metabolic and other therapeutic areas. Several products have already secured regulatory approval or are under review, positioning TCBI for phased launches once operational readiness is completed.

Indonesia represents Southeast Asia’s largest pharmaceutical market, supported by a population of 278.00 million and an estimated long-term growth rate of 8-10% annually. Expanding universal healthcare coverage and rising demand for innovative therapies underpin the market’s attractiveness within Sino Biopharmaceutical’s broader international strategy.

Tempo Scan, founded in 1953 and publicly listed since 1994, operates 16 manufacturing facilities and a distribution network spanning 238 locations—4 distribution centres, 46 branches and warehouses, 13 sales offices, 173 sales points and 2 e-commerce fulfilment hubs—handling 1.80 million offline and 3.50 million online shipments each year.

Beyond immediate product launches, the partners will explore local clinical development, manufacturing technology transfer and potential on-shore production, aiming to enhance Indonesia’s pharmaceutical industry and improve patient access to innovative medicines.
