Midday Market Review: Hong Kong Stocks Dip Slightly; South Korea's Double-Long SK Hynix ETF Surges Over 59%

The Hang Seng Index declined 0.11% in morning trading, shedding 28 points to 25,830, while the Hang Seng Tech Index gained 0.70%. Total turnover on the Hong Kong stock market reached HK$178.6 billion in early trading.

A strong rebound in the global AI sector lifted South Korea's KOSPI index, driving the Southern Double-Long SK Hynix ETF (07709) to surge 59%, closing at HK$40.50 on volume of HK$13.9 billion. The ETF briefly hit an intraday high of HK$103, representing a 306% gain.

ASMPT (00522) jumped over 11% after posting second-quarter results and a third-quarter outlook that both significantly exceeded market expectations.

Robot-related stocks rallied. Unitree Robotics received approval for its STAR Market IPO, while Tesla is nearing mass production of its Optimus robot by year-end. Xian Gong Intelligent (06106) rose 15%; Lai Fu Harmonic (03952) climbed 14%; and Zhaowei Electromechanical (02692) added 7.68%.

Haizhi Technology Group (02706) soared over 40% after recently completing a strategic upgrade of its academician workstation.

Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology (01523) gained more than 21%, as first-half net profit rose nearly 28% year-on-year, and the company declared an interim dividend of HK$0.1566 per share.

Mafangshi (02556) extended its rally, adding over 22%, driven by the commercial scaling of its AI application business and a significant year-on-year increase in first-half performance.

Tianyue Advanced (02631) rose more than 9%, as the ramp-up of 8-inch SiC substrate shipments is expected to drive a profit recovery for the company.

Gold stocks continued their upward trend. Yen intervention and the Federal Reserve's steady rate policy weakened the US dollar, supporting a gold price rebound. Lingbao Gold (03330) rose 5%; Chifeng Gold (06693) gained 3%.

MINIMAX-W (00100) surged over 12% after officially launching MiniMax H3. The stock is expected to be included in the Stock Connect program early next month. Following the expansion of its AI computing data center, Zhipu AI (02513) opened the GLM Coding Plan for subscription, sending its shares up more than 20%.

Changfeng Pharmaceutical (02652) jumped 21% after announcing a proposed share placement to raise approximately HK$295 million for clinical development of innovative drug candidates and other purposes.
