China Merchants Heavy Industry Jinling Shipyard Signs Letter of Intent with TT-Line for Two Second-Generation Green Ferry Vessels

On October 7th, China Merchants Heavy Industry Jinling Shipyard and German TT-Line company held a signing ceremony in Europe for a letter of intent covering 1+1 second-generation green ferry vessels. This marks another collaboration between the two parties in the design and construction of next-generation high-end ferry ships, building upon their initial partnership that began in 2018 when TT-Line first placed its shipbuilding orders outside of European markets.

The successful delivery of "NILS HOLGERSSON" and "PETER PAN" in 2022 has demonstrated excellent operational performance across TT-Line's German, Polish, Lithuanian and Swedish routes, proving their effectiveness in high-efficiency trade operations.

Compared to the first generation, the upcoming TT-Line second-generation green ferry vessels will achieve comprehensive upgrades across core performance parameters. The new ships will reach approximately 240 meters in length with passenger capacity for 1,000 people. Notable features include a liquefied natural gas hybrid propulsion concept that will establish these vessels as new benchmarks for environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.
