According to customs statistics, Hebei Province's total import and export value with ASEAN countries reached 28.9 billion yuan in the first four months of this year, marking a year-on-year increase of 38.7%. This makes ASEAN Hebei's largest trading partner. Exports amounted to 21.47 billion yuan, up 46.7%, while imports were 7.43 billion yuan, rising 19.6%.

Both traditional and emerging industries in Hebei showed strong export performance to ASEAN. Among traditional sectors, steel exports surged 130% to 3.77 billion yuan, and agricultural product exports grew 17.9% to 1.72 billion yuan. In emerging industries, exports of electrical equipment, electronic components, and automobiles reached 1.29 billion yuan, 460 million yuan, and 440 million yuan, respectively, with growth rates of 280%, 75.4%, and 120%. Additionally, exports of the "new three" products—electric vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, and photovoltaic products—jumped 480% to 1.21 billion yuan.

Hebei's robust demand for production materials drove imports from ASEAN, with basic organic chemicals rising 66% to 340 million yuan and unwrought copper and copper products soaring 260% to 210 million yuan. Characteristic agricultural imports from ASEAN, such as syrup, tapioca starch, and vegetable oil valued at 170 million yuan, 150 million yuan, and 90.171 million yuan respectively, have enriched domestic consumer choices.

Overall, Hebei's total import and export value for the first four months stood at 246.81 billion yuan, a 34.6% increase year-on-year.
