The construction of Pingguoyuan Integrated Transport Hub has entered its final sprint phase. Located in western Beijing, this dual-core driven hub—combining transport and urban functions—is poised to become a landmark project. As a key municipal initiative and the first transit-oriented development (TOD) project in western Beijing, the hub, developed by Shoufa Group's Gonglian Company, is now in the final stages of interior decoration, electromechanical installation, and exterior cladding, with completion targeted for the end of this year.

Upon opening, the hub will redefine urban space in western Beijing under the "TOD" concept, transforming into a mega urban complex integrating transport interchange, commercial services, and industrial collaboration.

During a site visit, the hub's spacious white-themed transfer hall stood out for its clarity. The ground-level hall features segregated bus platforms for boarding and alighting. Future passengers transferring between Metro Line 1 and Line 6 can seamlessly access buses via the elevated concourse.

Strategically positioned south of Fushi Road and north of Pingguoyuan Road, the hub neighbors landmarks like China Railway Innovation Tower, Qianhai Life Plaza, Pingguohui, and Joy City. It serves as an interchange for Metro Line 1, Line 6, and the S1 light rail. Spanning 298,000 square meters, the project allocates 94,000 sqm to transport functions and 147,000 sqm to commercial and office spaces, complemented by five connecting roads to form a multimodal transport network.

The hub's dual-section design (north and south) allows easy pedestrian access via overpasses and underground passages across Pingguoyuan South Road. Additional aerial and subterranean links connect directly to nearby commercial hubs and parks, including Joy City, Pingguohui, China Railway Innovation Tower, and Jindingshan Park.

"By integrating bridges, atriums, and underground walkways, the hub merges transport with commerce and work, evolving from a transit node into a vibrant urban hub," said Yang Tao, the project lead from Shoufa Group Gonglian Company.

As a TOD pioneer, the hub prioritizes seamless transfers, adopting an innovative "integration of transport and urban functions" approach. Its vertical mixed-use design consolidates metro, BRT, buses, taxis, P+R parking, and pedestrian systems, optimizing scarce urban land resources.
