A social practice team from Renmin University of China recently visited Tongchuan as part of its "Thousand Villages, Hundred Alleys" initiative, conducting grassroots research in Xiaganian Community under Xinqu Xianfeng Road Subdistrict and Chongde Community under Yaozhou Yong'an Road Subdistrict.

The team aimed to observe firsthand the outcomes of community governance and support local development through youth-led practical engagement.

Lu Qirui, a student council member from the university's School of Applied Economics, noted the positive interaction between communities and young people during the visits. He observed that youth are leveraging their professional expertise to enhance community governance, while communities provide a broad platform for young people to build skills and pursue their aspirations, creating a mutually beneficial cycle of growth and empowerment.

Zhang Kexin, head of the Youth League Committee at Xiaganian Community, stated that the community will continue to uphold Party leadership as its guiding principle, focus on the daily needs of young residents, refine service measures, and establish platforms for meaningful participation. The goal is to encourage young people to take active roles in community governance, contribute at the grassroots level, and help drive high-quality community development.

Chongde Community is also working to enrich the cultural and spiritual lives of local residents, aiming to strengthen its governance capacity. Zhang Mengtao, the community's Party branch secretary and neighborhood committee director, explained in an interview that the community will regularly organize cultural and sports activities that resonate with residents. These efforts are designed to boost participation in community building and continually enhance residents' cultural experiences.

Qi Yufeng, a ninth-grade student from the city's No. 1 Middle School, has been actively involved in community practice and cultural events. He expressed his commitment to supporting community initiatives, taking part in various cultural, sports, and volunteer activities, and encouraging peers to step beyond the classroom and engage with their communities to enrich their extracurricular lives.

This collaborative university-community initiative has allowed student participants to immerse themselves in grassroots settings and connect closely with residents, effectively showcasing the responsibility and dedication of today's younger generation.
