On November 5, the "Beijing Industrial Tourism Demonstration Sites Resource Promotion Event" was held at the Brick Kiln Public Culture and Art Complex in Haidian District, co-organized by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology. During the event, 11 newly designated Beijing Industrial Tourism Demonstration Sites for 2025 were officially recognized, bringing the total number of such sites in Beijing to 30 across three batches.

Industrial tourism integrates production processes, historical sites, and brand culture to offer the public diverse services such as sightseeing, experiential consumption, and educational activities. The newly added sites include Xiaomi Science and Technology Park, Jinlong Shuncheng Cultural and Creative Industrial Park in Dongcheng District, Miqi Finger Dancer Factory in Chaoyang District, and the Brick Kiln Public Arts Complex in Haidian District. Other additions span districts such as Changping (Zhifengtang Honey Expo Park and CRRC Beijing Zhihui Port Industrial Park), Daxing (Sanyuan Capital Milk Science Museum and Beijing Tongrentang Health Pharmaceutical Daxing Base), Huairou (Beijing Yushiyuan Traditional Food Culture Education Base), and Miyun (BAIC New Energy’s Xiangjie Super Factory), as well as the Robot World in the Economic Development Zone.

Currently, Beijing has 30 municipal-level industrial tourism sites, including national示範基地 such as the 798 Art Zone, 751D·PARK Beijing Fashion Design Square, and the Beijing Erguotou Museum. These sites cover traditional craftsmanship, smart manufacturing, cultural innovation, and technological advancement.

Moving forward, Beijing will incorporate industrial tourism achievements into its 15th Five-Year Plan, optimizing product offerings and enhancing market promotion. The city aims to deepen integration between industrial tourism and sectors like culture, technology, education, and rural tourism to drive high-quality economic growth.

The event highlighted the diverse experiences available at these sites, from traditional技藝傳承 to smart manufacturing displays and industrial heritage revitalization. For example, the Beijing Enamel Factory showcases 600-year-old cloisonné craftsmanship, while the Shougang Shijingshan Industrial Culture Park transforms century-old steel relics into a leisure and cultural hub. Aimer Fashion Factory blends smart manufacturing with immersive cultural experiences.

Additionally, repurposed industrial spaces like the 1897 Innovation City (formerly the Erqi Factory), Jinlong Glazed Tile Cultural Park, and Beibingyang Yili Industrial Park have become popular destinations for leisure and educational activities.

Under the "Beijing Industrial Tourism High-Quality Development Implementation Plan (2025–2027)," the city aims to attract 20 million visitors annually by 2027, generating 3 billion yuan in revenue. Key initiatives include upgrading industrial heritage parks like Shougang Park and 798·751 into cultural and entertainment hubs, creating five industrial parks showcasing advanced productivity (e.g., robotics and commercial aerospace), and developing 10 themed tourism hotspots.

To improve services, Beijing will implement 20 factory renovation projects, encourage businesses to optimize retail models, and promote industrial-themed souvenirs. Digital technologies like AI and the metaverse will enhance visitor experiences. The city will also conduct resource surveys to preserve industrial heritage and history.
