On September 7, Quantum Solutions Co., Ltd. (TSE Standard Market, code: 2338) announced the signing of purchase contracts for the latest-generation high-density GPU server systems and related equipment, with a total investment of approximately $61 million. The equipment will be deployed at a data center within Osaka Prefecture, signaling the company's official entry into the first phase of full-scale construction for its AI infrastructure/data center (AIDC) business. This agreement transitions the company's AIDC operations from planning and preparation into physical asset development.

Starting in Osaka, the company aims to serve large-scale AI computing demand, including that of overseas cloud service providers, with plans to incrementally add GPU computing capacity and expand its data center footprint in subsequent phases. Quantum Solutions CEO Umega Osawa noted that every AI service ultimately operates on physical infrastructure. With the initial deployment in Osaka, the company moves from planning to construction, beginning its mission to deliver AI computing power to global markets from Japan.

According to the announcement, the first batch of GPU computing platforms is designed for high-density data centers and represents the newest generation of products available at the time of this signing. The company will target overseas cloud service providers and other clients with substantial computing requirements as it advances its global customer acquisition strategy. It plans to evolve into what it describes as an "AI Compute Factory," a unified infrastructure supporting AI model training, inference, and large-scale token generation.

As generative AI spreads and the capabilities of large-scale models continue to improve, demand for high-performance GPU computing power—essential for training, inference, and service operations—is expanding rapidly worldwide. The current bottleneck is no longer limited to the GPU chips themselves: securing the latest-generation processors, securing data center capacity capable of supporting high power density, and maintaining the operational expertise to run them have all become fundamental prerequisites for scaling AI services.

Quantum Solutions has positioned its AI infrastructure/data center business as a key pillar of its mid-to-long-term growth strategy. The company is actively advancing GPU computing resources and data center infrastructure, aiming to provide a high-performance AI computing platform that supports AI services and digital transformation initiatives both in Japan and overseas. Having previously reserved data center capacity within Japan, this initial procurement marks the transition of its GPU infrastructure into substantive construction for commercial service launch.

In its business rollout, Quantum Solutions will follow a two-step approach. Initially, the company will provide GPU computing resources to overseas cloud service providers, AI infrastructure companies, and other clients with large-scale computing needs. Over the medium and long term, it will explore operating its own "AI Compute Factory"—an integrated platform that, on top of GPU infrastructure, supports AI model training, inference, operations, and mass token generation. The goal is to extend beyond merely supplying computing capacity to supporting the full scope of AI workloads, building a foundation capable of generating higher added value.

Regarding the pace of expansion, the company stated that this transaction represents the first phase of GPU infrastructure procurement. It is currently in discussions with multiple data center operators to secure additional capacity and will evaluate further GPU server purchases and new data center sites both domestically and internationally in phases, based on customer demand, data center availability, funding conditions, and business profitability. As of the announcement date, the company is advancing its infrastructure, equipment, and GPU deployment plans on schedule to ensure it is fully prepared to meet Japan's high-end computing demands.
