Jump Trading is reportedly expanding its office space in Hong Kong, marking the latest move by a global trading firm to strengthen its presence in the city.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the Chicago-based firm is adding approximately 11,000 square feet (1,022 square meters) at One International Finance Centre. One of the sources noted that the company will move into new floors while also enlarging its footprint on existing levels.

The expansion comes as Jump Trading steps up its activity in Hong Kong's equity capital markets, where a robust pipeline of initial public offerings is generating significant opportunities for trading firms.

One source added that the company plans to hire additional staff at its Hong Kong office, particularly in quantitative and artificial intelligence-focused roles. A representative for Jump Trading declined to comment.
