GOME RETAIL Surges Over 9% on Plans to Acquire Majority Stake in Leiwo Asia Pacific

Shares of GOME RETAIL (00493) have surged more than 9% following an announcement of a planned acquisition.

At the time of writing, the stock was up 9.09% to HK$0.012, with a turnover of HK$372,600.

The company has disclosed that on June 5, 2026, it entered into a conditional agreement to purchase 51% of the issued shares of the target company, Leiwo Asia Pacific Industrial Co., Ltd.

The maximum consideration for the deal is set at approximately RMB 41.7945 million, which equates to roughly HK$48.0052 million.

This payment will be settled through the issuance of up to 3.429 billion new shares to the sellers upon completion of the agreement.

The company stated that the proposed acquisition aligns with its long-term strategy to diversify its business portfolio beyond traditional electronics retail.

It aims to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing health products sector and within the cross-border e-commerce ecosystem.

The target company's core competencies in cross-border online trade, brand operation services, and integrated supply chain solutions are seen as providing a unique opportunity.

This move is expected to help GOME capture new revenue streams and enhance its digital retail capabilities.
