The 0.96g (1.6 million units) injection of penicillin sodium has passed the consistency evaluation for generic drug quality and efficacy. Penicillin sodium injection is used to treat various infections caused by susceptible bacteria, such as abscesses, bacteremia, pneumonia, and endocarditis. Penicillin is the preferred treatment for infections including hemolytic streptococcus infections, pneumococcal infections, non-penicillinase-producing staphylococcal infections, anthrax, tetanus, gas gangrene and other clostridial infections, syphilis (including congenital syphilis), leptospirosis, relapsing fever, diphtheria, and when combined with aminoglycosides for treating streptococcus viridans endocarditis.
