AllianceBernstein has announced the appointment of Onur Erzan as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding current CEO Seth Bernstein, who is set to retire at the end of March next year.
Erzan will officially assume the CEO role on April 1, 2027. He joined AllianceBernstein five years ago and has served as head of the global client group and head of private wealth at the firm's private wealth management subsidiary.
Erzan has held the role of president for the past nine months, overseeing private wealth management, the global alternatives business, and the global asset management distribution segment, while also managing corporate strategy and business development.
Before joining AllianceBernstein, Erzan spent 20 years at McKinsey, where he later became a senior partner and co-head of the wealth and asset management practice.
Commenting on the appointment, Erzan said: "It is an honor to lead AllianceBernstein at such a pivotal moment. For nearly 60 years, the firm has distinguished itself through outstanding investment capabilities, rigorous academic discipline, and a collaborative, client-focused culture. The asset management and wealth management industries are undergoing rapid transformation, with clients seeking deeper collaboration, more comprehensive service capabilities, and integrated solutions. AllianceBernstein is uniquely positioned to provide clients with professional insights and supporting services to help them achieve differentiated investment returns. I look forward to working alongside our talented and dedicated colleagues around the world to open a new chapter in the firm's development."
Meanwhile, current CEO Seth Bernstein is preparing to retire. He has led AllianceBernstein since 2017. In 2018, he was appointed senior executive vice president and head of asset management at Equitable Holdings. Between 2017 and 2025, Bernstein served as president of the company. Before joining AllianceBernstein, he spent 32 years at JPMorgan, where he served as managing director and global head of management solutions and strategy at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.
Bernstein said: "It has been the honor of a lifetime to lead this outstanding organization. Over the past decade, we have expanded our business footprint, strengthened our distribution capabilities, and built a durable growth engine to better serve clients around the world. I am delighted that Onur will take over and lead AllianceBernstein forward, as he has been a key contributor to our strategy and has led much of its execution. He fully embodies the core values that have made AllianceBernstein successful: putting client interests first, making decisions with rigorous professional logic, and pursuing excellence in everything. I have full confidence in Onur's leadership and in the future opportunities for the firm."
