On March 27, CPIC held its 2025 performance briefing. Su Gang, Group Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, and Financial Officer, stated that the group's solvency improved significantly in 2025, primarily due to the sustained enhancement of operational efficiency in its major insurance fund subsidiaries and the optimization of asset-liability matching.

Su Gang noted that the life insurance subsidiary effectively mitigated pressures from declining interest rates by optimizing its asset-liability matching management, leading to a notable improvement in solvency. Meanwhile, the property and casualty insurance subsidiary built a solid foundation for solvency enhancement through continuous profitability growth.

Su Gang emphasized that the company adheres to a philosophy of prudent operation, placing high importance on asset-liability matching management and consistently optimizing its business structure. Currently, both the life and P&C insurance subsidiaries maintain strong solvency ratios, positioning them favorably within the industry to withstand interest rate declines and stock market volatility.

Su Gang pointed out that while new transitional policies remain unclear, the company's improved profitability and ongoing optimization of asset-liability management ensured adequate solvency for both subsidiaries by the end of 2025. Even without factoring in transitional policies, solvency levels in 2026 are expected to remain well above regulatory requirements and rank in the upper-middle tier among peers.

"Looking ahead, considering market interest rates, the operating environment, and the company's development plans, we will rely on steady strategic focus and refined management. We anticipate that the solvency of our major insurance subsidiaries will continue to remain robust, maintaining ample safety margins to effectively navigate uncertainties in external interest rates and capital markets, thereby providing a solid foundation for long-term sustainable business growth," Su Gang stated.
