On September 27, Cuicun Town in Changping District launched the "Meet at Apple Town" carnival activities, introducing multiple cultural and tourism integration events including harvest celebration check-in routes that combine agricultural sightseeing with entertaining experiences, "Cuiyun Autumn Harvest, Enjoy National Style" intangible cultural heritage month, Apple Festival half marathon, and "Floral and Fruity Cuicun, A Piece of Good Apple" cycling tours. The town also partnered with social military-supporting merchants to provide exclusive discounts on fruit picking, dining, and homestays for active and retired military personnel, stimulating the consumer market and enriching autumn and winter leisure experiences for citizens and tourists. The series of activities will continue until December.
Cuicun Town has a long history of apple cultivation and is known as "Beijing's First Apple Town in the Suburbs." Located in the warm zone at the foot of mountains, it boasts over 6,000 mu of standardized orchards. Its representative variety "Cuicun Red" has just been awarded "National Top 100 Premium Products." In recent years, Cuicun Town has continuously strengthened its apple-led rural specialty industry. Currently, the town has developed 38 farmer professional cooperatives, with annual apple output value stable at over 43 million yuan.
The town has also focused on "Apple Town" construction, creating characteristic projects along the Xixi Road main axis including apple demonstration bases, technology courtyards, Zhenshun Apple Banquet, apple marathon and other featured projects, building apple-themed parks and internet-famous cultural and creative parks, achieving integrated development of "apples + cultural creativity + tourism + health care + events."
Nie Huisong, Deputy Secretary of Cuicun Town Party Committee and Mayor, introduced that relying on over 6,000 mu of standardized orchards, the town produces over 4,500 tons of high-quality apples annually, with "Cuicun Red" becoming the town's bright calling card. Currently, Yellow Banana apples in some orchards have matured and are available for picking and tasting. From October 15 to 20, "Cuicun Red" apples will enter their mature harvest period.
