At midnight on Friday, September 11, the 18th fuel price adjustment of the year will take effect.

Rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have increased shipping risks through the Strait of Hormuz, driving a rapid surge in risk premiums across crude markets. As a result, both international and domestic crude prices have posted significant gains this week.

Calculations from the fifth working day of the current pricing cycle show that gasoline and diesel are projected to rise by 160 yuan per tonne and 155 yuan per tonne, respectively. Converted to pump prices, 92-octane gasoline is expected to increase by 0.13 yuan per liter, 95-octane gasoline by 0.14 yuan per liter, and 0-diesel by 0.13 yuan per liter.

Following the adjustment, filling a 50-liter tank will cost an additional 6.5 to 7 yuan. The final adjustment price will be subject to the official announcement by the National Development and Reform Commission.

The following fuel-saving tips are recommended for your reference.

Optimize driving habits. Smooth acceleration and braking can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20% around town.

Maintain proper tire pressure. Under-inflated tires increase rolling resistance, requiring more fuel to maintain speed.

Reduce unnecessary load. Every extra 50 kg of weight can increase fuel usage by roughly 2%.

Use air conditioning wisely. At highway speeds, open windows create drag; using the AC efficiently is often more economical.
