The eurozone's manufacturing sector showed stronger-than-anticipated growth in August, according to the latest flash purchasing managers' index data.

S&P Global's August flash manufacturing PMI came in at 52.8, surpassing the 51.8 average forecast from a survey of 25 analysts, whose individual projections ranged between 52.5 and 51.0. This marks an improvement from July's reading of 51.9 and is notably higher than the 50.7 recorded in the same month last year.

In addition, the flash services business activity index registered 51.7, slightly exceeding the analysts' estimate of 51.5. The composite output index also outperformed expectations, posting a flash reading of 52.1 compared to the anticipated 51.7.
