Following his departure from Alibaba Group as Vice President and former DingTalk CEO, Ye Jun (nicknamed "Bu Qiong") is planning to venture into AI Agent entrepreneurship and has already engaged with multiple investment institutions. According to informed sources, the preliminary direction of this project focuses on developing AI Agents for B2B scenarios.
Dr. Ye Jun graduated with a computer science degree from Sichuan University. He began interning at Alibaba in 2006 and officially joined the company in 2007, subsequently leading various divisions including AliSoftware, AliExpress, Enterprise Intelligence, and Government DingTalk. In 2021, following the departure of DingTalk founder Chen Hang (nicknamed "Wu Zhao") to pursue entrepreneurship, Ye Jun succeeded him as DingTalk CEO, becoming the platform's second leader. This April, DingTalk founder Chen Hang returned to helm the platform, while Ye Jun was transferred back to Alibaba Group. In July, Ye Jun officially departed from Alibaba.
Currently, Ye Jun has begun assembling his team, with several members being former colleagues from his time at Alibaba. Sources reveal that Ye Jun has recruited Fan Zhiyue as his second-in-command. Fan Zhiyue previously served as a senior technical expert at Alibaba, technical risk manager, technical quality architect, and product manager for the R&D efficiency platform and external cloud efficiency platform within the B2B business group.
The year 2025 is being called the "AI Agent commercialization first year." Following DeepSeek's surge in popularity, enterprises have recognized the need for sophisticated intelligent agent platforms to leverage their proprietary data and maximize large language model value. Many companies seek to build valuable intelligent agents around their core businesses to achieve cost reduction, efficiency improvement, precise operations, and risk management.
As market demand continues to intensify, an increasing number of players are entering the AI Agent entrepreneurship space, with application scenarios spanning finance, business travel, SaaS, and other sectors. However, the overall technology maturity still has significant room for improvement.
