China Everbright Water (U9E) on Apr, 16 2026 released written replies to questions raised by shareholders and the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) before its annual general meeting scheduled for Apr, 22 2026 in Singapore.
The company said an expected-credit-loss allowance of 12.1 % was applied to its trade receivables as at Dec, 31 2025, stressing that no write-offs had occurred in recent years. After impairment, net trade receivables stood at 6.45 billion Singapore dollars. Management outlined measures for 2026 that include “one plant, one policy” settlement strategies, legal action where necessary and the use of financial instruments to accelerate cash inflows.
For the 2025 financial year, revenue fell 22 % year on year mainly because construction-service income dropped nearly 60 %. Management attributed the lower construction activity to industry moves toward asset optimisation, a shift to asset-light business models and a more selective investment approach.
The group also returned value-added-tax refunds received in 2022 and paid late-payment charges, citing differing interpretations of newly introduced tax incentives; it said no compliance gaps were found.
Since 2018, China Everbright Water has formed an “Intelligent Water” team, deploying artificial-intelligence-based visual inspections, anomaly detection and voice-interactive expert systems to improve operational efficiency and cost control.
Directors noted that dividend payouts have been maintained at above 30 % of earnings since 2021, with a proposed full-year 2025 distribution of 10.31 Singapore cents per share. They added that the board continues to monitor share performance and will consider opportunities to enhance shareholder value through steady operations, consistent dividends and ongoing investor engagement.
