Hong Kong Stock Movers: Innovative Drug Stocks Extend Gains as BofA Points to Three Major Recent Partnerships Strengthening Sector Momentum and ESMO Set to Bring Dense Catalysts

According to a report, innovative drug concept stocks extended their gains. As of press time, CANSINOBIO (06185) rose 12.75% to HK$40.14; ASCLETIS-B (01672) gained 9.39% to HK$8.915; SBP GROUP (01177) advanced 4.77% to HK$5.815; and AKESO (09926) climbed 3.87% to HK$110.1.

On the news front, recently Hengrui Pharmaceutical licensed its GLP-1/GIP dual receptor agonist HRS-1596 to Novo Nordisk for consideration, with the potential total transaction value reaching up to US$2.6 billion; AstraZeneca will invest US$2 billion to take a strategic equity stake in Summit, the overseas partner of AKESO; and SBP GROUP reached a biosimilar strategic cooperation with STADA, granting STADA exclusive commercialization rights in the EU, Switzerland, the UK and CIS markets for the pembrolizumab biosimilar TQB3570.

BofA Securities released a research report stating that three recent partnerships in China's pharmaceutical/biotech sector have strengthened sector momentum. Bohai Securities stated that AI pharmaceutical catalysts have been dense recently, with the industry focus gradually shifting from model capabilities to wet-lab validation efficiency and other aspects. It is recommended to pay attention to investment opportunities in AI pharmaceutical-related sub-sectors such as gene synthesis, protein expression, reagents and consumables, animal models and clinical trials. Meanwhile, the 2026 ESMO annual meeting is about to be held, and excellent clinical data are expected to be read out, bringing dense catalysts to the sector. It is recommended to focus on investment opportunities in innovative drugs, CXO and the upstream life sciences industry chain.
