On June 29, a significant number of NIO Inc. owners reported on social media that the NIO App was experiencing crash issues, with the related topic "NIO Owners Stranded" trending online.

It is understood that this app crash problem primarily affected the iOS version, causing the app to close immediately upon opening and preventing access to the control interface; the Android version is currently reported to be functioning normally.

Many owners called the customer service hotline for assistance and were uniformly advised to uninstall and reinstall the app. Some owners, after multiple unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue by restarting their phones, managed to restore their vehicle's unlock functionality by uninstalling and then reinstalling the NIO App.

Concurrently with the app failure, the mobile phone Bluetooth key, which serves as a common unlocking method, also became unresponsive. When owners approached their vehicles, the car lights did not illuminate, and the vehicles failed to sense the key for unlocking, leaving numerous owners stranded beside their cars.

On the morning of June 30, the NIO customer service hotline informed media inquiries that the root cause of the problem had been identified and a fix was being implemented. A new version of the app is being rolled out in batches, and users can resolve the issue by upgrading once they receive the update notification.

As of the time of reporting, NIO's official channels had not yet released a public statement regarding this incident.
