The Xiong'an-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway began operations today (September 28).
The Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway is a key north-south corridor in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network, originating from Beijing Fengtai Station and passing through Xiong'an, Shangqiu, Hefei, Nanchang, Ganzhou, and Shenzhen before terminating at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
At present, the Shangqiu-Hefei section, the Hefei-Anqing-Jiujiang section, the Nanchang-Ganzhou section, the Ganzhou-Shenzhen section, and the Shenzhen-Hong Kong section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway have all been completed and are in operation. The Nanchang-Jiujiang section is still under construction, while preliminary work on the Beijing Fengtai-Xiong'an section is being actively and orderly advanced.
Starting today, passengers in Hefei, Huainan, Shouxian, Fuyang, and Bozhou in Anhui Province can take high-speed trains directly to Beijing Daxing Airport.
A high-speed train from Hefei to Daxing Airport departs Hefei Station at 6:56, arrives at Huainan South Station at 7:23, reaches Shouxian Station at 7:34, arrives at Fuyang West Station at 8:05, reaches Bozhou South Station at 8:34, and arrives at Beijing Daxing Airport at 12:20.
From Daxing Airport to Hefei, there are three high-speed trains daily, mainly concentrated during the midday and afternoon periods.
After the Xiong'an-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway was completed and opened to traffic, the maximum operating speed is 350 kilometers per hour.
In the initial phase of operation, the railway department has arranged up to 64 bullet trains per day, all of which are cross-line bullet trains. The fastest travel time from Xiong'an to Shangqiu is 2 hours and 27 minutes. For the first time, cross-line high-speed trains are operating from Beijing West via the Beijing-Xiong'an Intercity Railway, the Xiong'an-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, and the Shangqiu-Hefei section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway to Hefei and Huangshan North. Xiong'an has also launched its first cross-line high-speed trains to Shanghai Hongqiao via the Xiong'an-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, the Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway, and the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway.
To meet the diverse travel needs of passengers, the railway department is implementing a flexible discount and differentiated market-based pricing mechanism on the Xiong'an-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, providing passengers with more choices for their journeys. Specific ticket prices can be checked through Railway 12306.
