The CEO of South Korean AI chip company Rebellions has announced plans for an initial public offering in the first or second quarter of next year, aiming to capitalize on significant investor enthusiasm for the artificial intelligence semiconductor sector.

Rebellions CEO Sunghyun Park stated the company prefers a listing on South Korea's main board, the KOSPI, rather than the KOSDAQ market.

"Actual revenue is now being generated. That is precisely why we are preparing for an IPO with our underwriters, JPMorgan and Samsung Securities," Sunghyun Park said on Wednesday.

"Our investors prefer the Korean market, specifically the KOSPI, because we are highly aligned with the Korean government's super project—one of the largest global investments in AI infrastructure," he added.

Park noted the company is also evaluating other listing options, such as in the United States, and is currently in discussions with the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.

While previous media reports had indicated Rebellions was planning a public listing, Park's comments provide the first specific details on the timing and exchange considerations.

Rebellions, which counts Samsung, SK Hynix, and key South Korean government funds among its backers, is one of several startups targeting a share of the market for AI inference semiconductors.
