Leveraging the advantages of Beijing and Tianjin, Langfang is accelerating its industrial transformation during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The city has capitalized on its unique transportation and geographical strengths to establish modern commerce and logistics as its top priority project. By enhancing industrial agglomeration effects and fostering new business models, Langfang is empowering diverse industries and emerging as a global hub for modern commerce and logistics, brimming with high-quality development momentum.

At ZTO Express (中通快遞) Northern Headquarters' inbound port, parcels flow continuously from trucks onto conveyor belts. After identity verification via five-sided scanning cameras, packages are sorted—small items move to automated third-floor systems, while larger ones proceed to ground-level loading. Operational since October 18, the facility processes 500,000 parcels hourly across its three-story layout, achieving 99.99% accuracy with a five-minute turnaround from unloading to loading.

Wang Chengbo, operations team leader at ZTO Express Northern Headquarters, explained their vertical workflow: "Inbound sorting on the third floor, unloading on the second, and dispatch on the first ensures unidirectional flow, reducing manpower needs by 40% compared to traditional models." The facility handles 5 million parcels daily, peaking at 12 million during high seasons.

The ZTO Express project, launched in 2023, benefited from Guangyang District's dedicated service team that secured all construction permits within 62 days. Li Xiaoning, deputy director of Guangyang Economic Development Zone, highlighted their 62.8 million yuan infrastructure investments to facilitate project implementation.

"This 1.1 billion yuan smart logistics hub spans 448,000 square meters, integrating cloud warehousing, cold chain logistics, and cross-border e-commerce," said Li Yihui, the project head. With annual capacity for 3.5 billion parcels and projected revenue exceeding 3.2 billion yuan, it serves as ZTO Express's northern hub for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei operations.

Langfang's commerce and logistics sector has attracted eight major courier giants including ZTO Express, forming a national logistics headquarters cluster rivaling Shanghai's Qingpu district. The city now processes over 37 million parcels daily, with 590 million shipments dispatched nationwide annually. By October 19, annual parcel volume reached 1.721 billion, surpassing 2024's total 73 days early.

The industry's "logistics+" integration strategy is yielding results. At Yongding City·Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei (Gu'an) International Trade City, winter apparel sales have surged 30-50% year-over-year, supported by 300 dedicated procurement shuttle routes nationwide. The mall also provides digital marketing training to boost merchant capabilities.

Beyond retail logistics, Langfang is developing synergistic models combining logistics with agriculture, manufacturing, cultural tourism, and technology. Enhanced transportation infrastructure includes nine-month rail freight volume of 6.5174 million tons and 5.994 billion ton-kilometers of road freight, ranking third provincially. The newly launched Beijing Daxing-Paris cargo route has handled 2,817 tons of goods worth 719 million yuan since May.

Policy support includes prioritized land allocation (1,429 mu for 18 projects) and talent development programs. Five major industrial clusters have formed, contributing 70.73 billion yuan (9.5% growth) to GDP in 2025's first three quarters, accounting for 25.1% of the city's economy with 6.53 billion yuan in tax revenue (12.8% increase).
