NCI (New China Life Insurance Company Ltd.) announced on August 12 that its third employee representative congress has elected Liu Zhanpeng as the employee director for the ninth board of directors. His appointment as director remains subject to regulatory approval.

According to the announcement, Liu Zhanpeng, born in January 1973 and a Chinese national, currently serves as the head of the Publicity Department, general manager of the Party Building Work Department, and director of the Targeted Assistance Office at NCI. Liu has extensive experience in party building, mass work, and strategic planning. From February 2011 to October 2023, he held successive roles as general manager of the Strategic Development Department and general manager of the Strategic Planning Department at NCI. Prior to that, from February 2001 to February 2011, he served in various roles within the company's planning department, including deputy manager of the Planning and Statistics Division, manager of the Development Research Division, manager of the Comprehensive Management Division, senior strategy manager of the Strategy Management Center, and deputy general manager of the Strategic Development Department within the Strategy Management Center. Liu graduated from Capital University of Economics and Business in July 1995 with a degree in Public Finance.
