Singapore Telecommunications Ltd reported its business update for the first quarter ended Jun, 30 2026 on Aug, 13 2026.

The group’s underlying net profit, which forms the base for core dividends, climbed 21% year on year to 831 million Singapore dollars, supported by stronger performances at Airtel, AIS, NCS, Optus and Digital InfraCo.

Operating revenue rose 4.9% to 3.558 billion Singapore dollars, while EBITDA increased 8.7% to 1.076 billion Singapore dollars and Operating Company EBIT expanded 10% to 462 million Singapore dollars. Growth was driven by NCS, Optus and Digital InfraCo, and aided by a stronger Australian dollar, partially offset by softer results in the Singapore consumer business.

Net profit fell 71.6% to 818 million Singapore dollars due to the absence of the 2.20 billion Singapore dollars of exceptional gains booked in the same quarter a year earlier from the sale of a partial stake in Airtel and the Intouch-Gulf Energy merger.

The group’s share of post-tax profits from regional associates jumped 16% to 543 million Singapore dollars, buoyed chiefly by Airtel and AIS. Net finance income swung to 38 million Singapore dollars, helped by a 153 million Singapore dollar dividend from Gulf Development Public Company.

Group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon said the quarter reflected “consistent and disciplined execution” of the Singtel28 strategy, noting momentum in data-centre arm Nxera and the RE:AI cloud service, while acknowledging continued pricing pressure in the Singapore mobile market.

Singtel added that the Australian Communications and Media Authority filed Federal Court proceedings against Optus on Jul, 30 2026 over a September 2025 outage affecting emergency calls; potential liabilities remain uncertain.
