As consumers increasingly turn to ChatGPT over Google for queries, product discovery models are undergoing transformation. Peec AI, which helps brands gain visibility and control in this fast-growing search channel, has emerged as one of Europe's most-watched startups.

The Berlin-based company just closed a $21 million Series A round led by European VC firm Singular, merely four months after its seed funding led by 20VC. CEO Marius Meiners declined to disclose exact valuation but confirmed it has tripled to over $100 million.

Within ten months of launch, Peec AI has grown its annual recurring revenue (ARR) beyond $4 million, serving 1,300 enterprise and institutional clients. The platform enables brands to monitor their AI search presence, analyzing visibility rankings while tracking user sentiment and information sources shaping search responses.

These insights power its Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) solution - a counterpart to traditional SEO that helps marketing teams optimize AI search visibility. The startup currently adds about 300 new customers monthly, with fresh funding accelerating growth and expansion plans.

The round saw participation from Antler, Combination VC, identity.vc and S20. Peec AI plans to hire 40 employees in Berlin within six months, where Meiners co-founded the company during Antler's 2024 winter incubator program with CTO Tobias Siwonia and CRO Daniel Drabo.

Rapid scaling appears crucial in this emerging competitive space, where rivals include New York's Profound and Austria's OtterlyAI. The 20-person team is running recruitment ads across Berlin's major outdoor spaces, with plans to open a New York sales office in Q2 2025.

Differentiating through comprehensive yet user-friendly dashboards, Peec AI focuses on "prompts" rather than keywords. Pricing starts at €75/month for 25 prompts and €169/month for 100 prompts, with enterprise plans beginning at €424/month.

The dashboard provides actionable recommendations - like suggesting CRM companies join Reddit's r/CRM discussions to appear for "best CRM for fast-growing businesses" queries. Its "source insights" feature guides content strategy, revealing niche publications sometimes outperform mainstream media for certain queries (e.g., "Berlin's top healthtech investors").

Clients include Axel Springer, Chanel, n8n, ElevenLabs and TUI. To filter irrelevant queries from tools like ChatGPT, Peec AI processes raw user request datasets. "We must eliminate noise to capture genuine brand/product questions," Meiners explained.

While featuring a simple interface, Peec AI's proprietary data processing may prove its competitive edge - highlighting how European startups are innovating across AI's application layer and underlying data infrastructure.
