At the "2025 Zhihu Science Open Mic: The Answer Seekers" event jointly organized by Zhihu and China Science Communication in Beijing on November 26, Jin Yong, Professor of Chemical Engineering at Tsinghua University, Director of the Research Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, shared his insights.

Jin remarked, "This is not an era where humans lounge in hammocks waiting for robots to serve coffee—it's a showdown between the human brain and AI." He acknowledged that the so-called "Singularity" moment might eventually arrive but emphasized that the human brain retains unique advantages. "Looking back suddenly, the answer appears in the dimming light—this kind of leapfrogging thinking is something current AI cannot achieve," he said.

The event marked the conclusion of Zhihu's 2025 Science Season, which launched in September during China's first official National Science Popularization Month. The season featured participation from prominent scholars, including Han Jisheng of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Pang Guofang of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Jian'an Li, International Member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine.
