On July 6, iShares MSCI South Korea ETF rose 5.49% in regular trading, trading at 189.38 USD/share, with turnover of 266 million USD.

On the news front, South Korea officially launched round-the-clock USD/KRW spot trading on July 6, widely regarded as the most fundamental foreign exchange reform since 1997. The move aims to enhance capital market competitiveness and support Korea's bid for MSCI Developed Market upgrade. Finance Minister Ku Yun-cheol called it the starting point for the Korean won going global. Additionally, Goldman Sachs released its second-half Korea strategy, maintaining a 12-month KOSPI target of 12,000 points with over 20% upside from current levels, projecting gains to broaden into energy, materials, and industrials.

Goldman Sachs forecasts Korean corporate net profits to grow approximately 320% year-over-year in full-year results, with 35% growth continuing next year. The firm noted that current margin lending increases primarily reflect leveraged ETF NAV growth rather than new investor borrowing, suggesting domestic equities still have room for incremental capital inflows.

The fund generally invests at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of its underlying index, a free float-adjusted market capitalization-weighted index designed to measure the performance of large- and mid-cap equity segments in Korea.
