Starting September 15, Daxing Airport has shifted its ride-hailing pickup area from the 1M level of the P1 parking building to the former P2 parking structure, according to an airport official announcement. The relocation establishes separate and independent operations for ride-hailing vehicles and private cars across different buildings, while simultaneously expanding the number of passenger pickup stands to 35. This move physically separates the two traffic flows, ensuring they operate without interfering with one another.
The upgraded entry and exit system for ride-hailing vehicles has evolved from the previous single-in and single-out access pattern into a dual-in and dual-out corridor system, allowing vehicles to enter and depart via dedicated lanes without conflict. In addition, the pickup zone is now physically isolated from the waiting area, enabling synchronized expansion of both core resources: the pickup stands have grown from 10 to 35, marking a 250% increase in pickup capacity, while the waiting zone can now accommodate up to 1,200 ride-hailing vehicles simultaneously, a 150% boost in holding capacity. The ample waiting reserves, paired with the multi-point pickup layout, allow for more flexible vehicle dispatch during peak hours, effectively reducing passenger waiting times and ensuring that arriving travelers depart quickly with minimal delay.
Ride-hailing platforms now operate under a zoned pickup model, significantly improving transfer efficiency, with the system capable of handling over 1,000 vehicles per hour during peak periods. This robust capacity is designed to withstand the demands of high-volume flight arrivals and holiday travel surges, ensuring smooth and unhindered passenger journeys. Alongside this upgrade, the waiting area has undergone a comprehensive service environment renovation, featuring newly installed air conditioning systems, comfortable seating, and smart information display screens that provide real-time vehicle updates, enhancing passenger awareness. Clear and intuitive signage, broadcast boarding announcements, and on-site staff guidance now cover the entire process from booking to waiting to boarding, embedding attentive and pleasant service into every detail, adding both speed and warmth to the ride-hailing connection experience.
Moving forward, Daxing Airport will continue to uphold its passenger-centric approach, collaborating with the Beijing Municipal Key Station Area Management Committee and transport authorities to continuously monitor ride-hailing passenger services, dynamically refine operational organization and service measures, and persistently deliver a travel experience that ensures passengers depart fulfilled and return satisfied.
