JIUYUAN GENE (02566) has announced that the Investigational New Drug (IND) application for its independently developed JY47 injection has received implied approval for clinical trials from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). The therapeutic indication is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) accompanied by liver fibrosis. This product is a monoclonal antibody injection targeting SIRPα developed by the group. SIRPα is a classic inhibitory receptor that binds with high affinity to its ligand, CD47. Research indicates that the CD47-SIRPα signaling pathway plays a significant role in immune regulation related to metabolic diseases. SIRPα antagonists can positively influence the progression of metabolic diseases by modulating immune cell function and improving tissue microenvironment and metabolic homeostasis. The injection has demonstrated promising therapeutic potential in both in vitro organoid models and in vivo disease models of MASH.
