Semiconductor shares rose in Tuesday trading. Wolfspeed rose 10%; SOXL rose 5%; TSMC, ON Semiconductor, Micron, NXP Semiconductors up 3%; ASML, Qualcomm up 2%; AMD, Arm, Intel rose 1%; Nvidia rose 0.1%.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. posted an impressive jump in sales in May, sending shares of the chip manufacturer higher Tuesday.
Early Tuesday, the company said May revenue was 320.5 billion New Taiwan dollars, or about $10.7 billion, 40% higher than the same period a year ago. Revenue for the first five months of the year was up 43% year-over-year.
Compared with the previous month, however, sales dropped 8.3%.
