Shares of CIG (ASX: 06166) rose sharply, gaining over 8%. At the time of writing, the stock was up 8.44% to HK$159.4, with a turnover of HK$2.486 billion.

The catalyst for the move appears to be news from NVIDIA. The company recently detailed its Rubin architecture's 100% liquid cooling solution via its official social media channels. NVIDIA stated that the Rubin system raises the coolant temperature to as high as 45 degrees Celsius, achieving an optimal balance between efficient heat dissipation and reduced energy consumption. Furthermore, the technology incorporates large cold plates and microchannels to enhance the overall heat exchange efficiency within the system.

With single-rack power consumption surpassing 200kW, NVIDIA's Rubin architecture is evolving liquid cooling from a component-level solution into a core, mainstream architecture for hyper-scale AI data centers. This shift aims to implement "full-link liquid cooling" at the system level, minimizing reliance on traditional air cooling.

Public information indicates that CIG's focus in liquid cooling is on immersion technology. Compared to conventional air cooling, operating optical modules in immersion coolant can significantly improve heat dissipation efficiency. At a previous industry exhibition, the company demonstrated its 800G QSFP-DD DR8 immersion liquid-cooled optical module, which showed a working temperature reduction of at least 10°C and a power consumption reduction of 0.5W to 1W per module.

Currently, CIG's globally pioneering 800G OSFP DR8 immersion liquid-cooled optical module, which utilizes its proprietary patented technology for isolating optical and liquid pathways, has entered volume production and is being supplied to customers.
