The announcement stated that the nomination process for the Chinese Academy of Engineering's 2025 academician selection has concluded, confirming 660 valid candidates for the 2025 academician selection.

Among them, Lian Yubo from BYD Company Limited is listed in the Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering Division.

It is worth noting that this is not Lian Yubo's first time being selected as a valid candidate for the Chinese Academy of Engineering academician selection.

According to available information, Lian Yubo appeared on the candidate lists for both 2023 and 2025 in the Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering Division, with Li Jun as the nominator in both instances.

Public information shows that Lian Yubo serves as BYD's Chief Scientist, Chief Automotive Engineer, and Dean of the Automotive Engineering Research Institute.

In addition to Lian Yubo, other candidates on the valid academician candidate list include Wu Kai, Chief Scientist at CATL, Li Gaopeng, Dean of the New Energy Research Institute at Yutong Bus, and Feng Jianghua, an expert in high-power electric traction and control from CRRC Group.
